My story isn't limited to my work at NASA I am also married with two children, I'm a classical flutist and a private pilot, and I also enjoys volleyball and bicycling. I live on Houston, TX 77058 I moved there to be near to NASA .I have not gone to space recently and Im not really planing to go .I'm really happy with my life and I think it couden't be better.One of my sons name is Willson wich me and my husvend adopted.

I do it because I got my doctoral student at Stanford, and later as a researcher at Sandia National Laboratories and NASA Ames Research Center, then I investigated optical system for performing information processing.
I am a co-inventor on three patents for an optical inspection system, an optical object recognition method, and a method for noise removal in images.Me as Chief of the Intelligent Systems Technology Branch at Ames, I supervised the 35 engineers scientists in the research and development of computational systems for aerospace missions. Then I had presented numerous papers at technical conferences and in scientific journals, and on January 1990 I was selected by NASA to became an astronaut and in July 1991 I became one ,and that's why I became an astronaut. I was also allot into school because of my mom who show me how to appreciate school. So I was always a great student who did all their work .

My most important achievement was go to space. Many people know me because I was the first Hispanic women to go to space, that's the only reason many people know.But that's not my only achievement even if some people only know me for going to space I also got other achievements which are important for me like I finished school, I got named valedictorian on the end of my senior year, I love playing instruments and I won playing the flute a students soloist on Stanford University orchestra,I also got honors on Stanford University .

Hi, my name is Ellen Ochoa I was born on May 10,1958 on Los Angeles; California but I grew up on La Mesa, California. My parents are Joe and Rosanne Ochoa. My dad left my mom when I was little leaving my mom with five kids to raise ages between six to sixteen , it was harsh living with out a dad but my mom was really supportive so I got over it. I have sister and 3 brothers. When I was little I started to play the flute I got really passioned about it thanks to my mom . My mom gave my sister , my brothers and I instruments , which we learned to play on the orchestra band in the public school we went .I was an A student and I got allot of honors in Stanford University.When I was little I never imagined being an astronaut and as I grew up I became and astronaut and I was the first Hispanic women to go to space.

Hi my name is Ellen Ochoa you might not know me, but I was the first Hispanic women to go to space.I was a great student I got to be named valedictorian (top student) on the end of my senior year .I also loved music and I won the student soloist award on Stanford playing the flute.I was born on Los Angeles,I have Mexican parents.I have 1 sister and 3 brothers.My dad left me and my family leaving my mom with 5 children ages between 6 to 16.
